I've just finished reading this having come across it when I was googling Quick drinks. He's a couple of years younger than me and had some different experiences but the book really caught aspects of my childhood. It was funny but also warm and left me a bit weepy at the end.
I'm three years older than Justin Sheedy, but it seems like we had almost identical childhoods. He recalls all of the quirky things from the life of a Seventies kid that the rest of us are in danger of forgetting. Goodbye Crackernight was a Time Machine which took me back to my childhood.
